Special Congratulations to Special People

Three young people in our community have especially distinguished themselves recently and deserve special recognition.

Miss Natalya Swanson (daughter of Gary and Suzanne Swanson) was honored by Skills, U.S.A. as an outstanding State Officer and selected to represent Florida at a National Competition this summer in Kansas. Natalya was also selected to give her graduation speech at Sarasota County Technical Institute and is graduating from Booker High School with honors and an outstanding 4.0 GPA and a years worth of college credits at Manatee Community College.

Mr. Mete Ozkan (son of Michele Ozkan) will be graduating from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to this wonderful achievement, Mete (Varlaam) was baptized and chrismated into the Holy Orthodox Church in Nashville.

Mr. Matthew Kanaan (son of Fred and Margaret Kanaan) is graduating from medical school and beginning his Hospital Residency.

Congratulations to all three of these individuals for their hard work and ‘thank you’ for the inspiration you provide to us all. (Thanks Mom!!)
