07/16/2008 - Our parishioner Jeff Constant lectured to our "Senior Moments" adult education class as part of his studies with the St. Stephan's Program. He took on a project to study and report on the history of Orthodox Christianity following the Ascension of Jesus Christ Our Savior. He is presenting his project in the form of a series of lectures at the "Senior Moments" discussion groups.

07/15/2008 - Our church hosted an "Introduction To Orthodoxy" at the request of parishioners from the Venice - Nokomis United Methodist Church. They were most interested in learning about the Eastern Orthodox history, beliefs and traditions. Discussions were held and questions were fielded from our guests on a broad range of subjects. A coffee hour was held afterwards where further conversations occurred regarding the Orthodox faith.

06/15/2008 - On Sunday, June 15th, 2008, our parish celebrated it's feast day: Holy Pentecost, the Descent of the Holy Spirit. A Fathers Day dinner also followed in which the women of the parish prepared a buffet dinner of multiple delicacies with appetizers served prior to the meal.

05/11/2008 - On Sunday, May 11th, the Sunday of the Myrrhbearing Women, our parish community held a Mother's Day Banquet after Divine Liturgy to honor all of our mothers, grandmother's and Godmothers.

The men of the parish prepared and served a meal for the women and even cleaned up afterwords. Dinner was served after Divine Liturgy. Appetizers were served in the patio while the men arranged the table settings in church. The men even cleaned up after the festivities!
